The Interior Design Society is a professional association that strives to strengthen and grow by providing its members with valuable education, resources, programs, and services to aid them in their path to professionalism in residential interior design. Founded in 1973 by the National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) to support interior designers based within furniture stores, the Interior Design Society has long since expanded its focus. All qualified residential design professionals, including those who work in a retail environment, are welcome and encouraged to join IDS as an adjunct to their classroom education.
The Naples Chapter of The Interior Design Society was established in 2000 and now has over 90 members, many of who have earned the right to use the lauded IDS Professional credential CQRID. The Council for Qualification of Residential Interior Designers (CQRID) is the qualifying exam offered to residential designers who have the drive, ability and dedication necessary to achieve professional status in their chosen field. Their members are renowned within the community and beyond for their award winning designs.
