BECOME A MEMBER

PROFESSIONAL: The highest membership level IDS offers is reserved for designers who have passed a national certification exam, such as the CQRID, OR certification with another nationally recognized design association.  IDS Professionals distinguish themselves and IDS by demonstrating talent and intense commitment.   Today’s consumer, who is aware of style, ever conscious of value and bombarded with information, depends on professional guidance in creating comfortable beautiful homes.  The IDS Professional member’s credentials provide customers with the reassurance that their designer is an expert, someone well equipped to guide them to the home of their dreams.  

ASSOCIATE: Associate members are designers with four or more years experience in interior design; OR a combination of education in interior design from an accredited interior design education program and practical interior design experience to equal four or more years.

AFFILIATE: Affiliate members are Individuals with less than four years experience in interior design; OR individuals in a relevant occupation (i.e., decorator, educator, specialist, management, etc.)

STUDENT: Students who are currently enrolled in an accredited residential interior design program may join IDS.
